The shift pattern typically is a mix of early, mid- and late shifts, as well as night shifts and weekends, on average 40 hours/ week. The rota is DRS4-compliant and managed by a dedicated rota admin team. Maintaining a healthy work-life balance is crucially important for job satisfaction and prevention of burnout. For those, seeking to pursue the CESR route, we can provide appropriate study leave time towards exam preparation (FRCEM), as well as secondments to other acute specialities (i.e. Acute Medicine, Intensive Care Medicine). The Department does have CESRConsultant representation which would be of particular benefit for any interested applicant. Study leave budget for relevant life support courses ALS, ATLS, EPLS, as well as the prospect of achieving Instructor status in any of them. Annual appraisals with tailored Personal Development Plan.
