Summary

Our client is an award winning building design consultancy currently experiencing a period of growth. With exciting new projects on the horizon, they are looking for a Technical Director Flood Risk & Hydraulic Modeller to join them on a permanent basis. With sites across the North, North East and North West, this person has the possibility to based in any the offices on a hybrid basis.

This is a newly created role which will give you the opportunity to lead the hydraulic modelling for the business and make the role your own. The Technical Director Flood Risk & Hydraulic Modeller position offers a unique opportunity for an experienced professional to build and manage their own team, with the support and guidance of a multidisciplinary group.

Salary
£65,000 - £70,000 per annum, depending on experience

About the Technical Director Flood Risk & Hydraulic Modeller Role
As Technical Director Flood Risk & Hydraulic Modeller, you will use your extensive experience of this sector and your background in engineering to produce and run 1D/2D hydraulic models, Flood Risk Assessments, Flood Alleviation Schemes and Drainage Strategies on a wide range of schemes.

Other requirements include:
Lead a dedicated team of hydraulic modelers & engineers
Establish best practices, driving innovation, and contributing to the success of projects related to water systems and infrastructure
Build and maintain strong client relationships, understanding their needs, and ability to manage expectations

About You – The Technical Director Flood Risk & Hydraulic Modeller
As the Technical Director Flood Risk & Hydraulic Modeller, you will have demonstratable experience in delivering Flood Alleviation schemes, Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategies. You will also have deep knowledge of the regulatory system to ensure that designs and projects comply with relevant laws and regulations.

Degree in Geography/Civil/Environmental Engineering or equivalent
Membership with CIWEM or working towards membership of this professional body.
Proficiency in engineering software tools, such as Autocad, ArcGIS and Hydraulic Modelling software
Strong project management skills, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
Strong leadership and communicative skills with the ability to develop and maintain working relationships with colleagues and clients.
Full UK driving license
