Self-employed support worker wanted for friendly autistic teen.
Hi! I’m a dad looking for a self-employed personal assistant / support worker to support my 17-year-old son, who has severe autism, in enjoying outdoor activities.
Your main job will be to help him get out and about, take part in activities, and have fun in a supportive way.
This includes:
✅ Going with him and parent(s) to leisure activities
✅ Using your car to help with transport
✅ Encouraging and supporting him to engage in activities
✅ Providing any assistance he needs along the way
He loves physical activities like horse riding, trampolining, sailing, go-karting, and exploring different areas for walking and being around people. We’d love to find someone who can help him stay active and try new experiences.
Who We're Looking For:
✔️ Patient, kind, and adaptable
✔️ Experience with autism (preferred, but not essential)
✔️ Physically fit and happy to keep up with an active teen
✔️ Reliable and has a car to use for work
✔️ Must pass a DBS check
Provisional hours:
Term time: Up to 8 hours per week
School holidays: Up to 30 hours per week
Hours will be ad hoc and flexible, depending on availability and planned activities.
Typical schedule (to be arranged):
Weekdays: 6 PM – 8 PM
Weekends: 12 PM – 6 PM
Pay: National Minimum Wage
Location: Bristol
You must have a legal right to work in the UK and be registered with HMRC as self employed. Proof needed.
