We have an exciting opportunity available for an Activities Ranger to join our Alladale Wilderness Reserve team, working on a full-time basis from May 2025.

As our Activities Ranger you will work with both the Hospitality and Reserve teams, and this will necessitate working weekends and bank holidays. Your responsibilities will include:

Driving guests on our Signature 4x4 Tours of Alladale Wilderness Reserve.
Leading hikes and mountain bike rides for adults and family groups.
Facilitating guests to learn about our nature restoration work.
Helping to look after our restored habitats and species across the Reserve.
You will enthusiastically share your expert knowledge of flora and fauna and the challenges they are facing under the biodiversity and climate crises. Your aim is to inspire our guests to experience, enjoy and respect our habitats and species by championing our ethical and ecological values, making sure every guest experiences a lasting connection with nature during their stay.

We are looking for a committed, friendly and engaging individual who will deliver to our exceptional standards, making sure every guest has the best experience possible. The ability to build good working relationships with colleagues and work to set timescales while being flexible and adaptable is essential. You will need to be comfortable working on your own outdoors and will have:

A relevant qualification in an environmentally based subject.
Walking and mountain biking leadership qualifications.
Experience of public speaking, leading groups, and ensuring activities are safe and enjoyable.
Experience gained from working in a similar/remote setting in the UK or abroad.
Outdoor First Aid certificate.
Driving licence and off-road driving experience.
A demonstrable ability and safe understanding of foraging would be an advantage.

We can offer you:

Salary of £30,000 per annum
The opportunity to work at one of Scotland’s premier nature restoration projects.
