HGV class 2 Lorry Driver
The company
Located in the heart of the historic market town of Shepton Mallet, Somerset, my client are a highly respected family business.
Currently employing 75 members of PAYE staff, turnover of £10 million, my client is unique in the South West for employing directly the full range of traditional tradesmen.
The Role
To be their HGV driver of their 26-tonne rigid (class 2) Lorry.
To include delivering Materials and plant to their sites and undertaking site clear using the HIAB arm. ( training provided)
The role will also include using this as well as Forklift back at their Premises - training can be provided for this.
Be on site, moving fences, load and unload material by hand, clearing sites to help
Safely and efficiently deliver their materials to designated locations.
Load and unload materials, ensuring that all items are handled with care.
Maintain excellent customer service standards during deliveries.
Complete delivery paperwork and log all activities accurately.
Requirements
- Enthusiastic with good communication skills
- Careful driver
- Flexible
- Be able to carry out basic checks and maintenance
Qualifications:
- Must hold a valid Class 2 driving license.
- HIAB licence is highly desirable not essential
- Forklift (FLT) licence is a strong advantage but not essential
- Previous experience in loading and unloading goods is preferred.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
We will need the chosen candidate to pass child safety check
Package
- Basic 42.5 hours per week - but could be 45- 50.( Monday to Friday)
- 7 am start
- £17/hour.
- 22 days holiday, plus bank holidays
