Summary
Yard Operative / Material Handler
Rate: to £14.00 p/hr, plus overtime to £21.00 per hour
Location: Cambourne, Cambridgeshire area - Own transport required due to location
Permanent Position
A Yard Operative / Material Handler is required by long established and respected engineering manufacturing company.
This dynamic and hands-on position encompasses a range of responsibilities, including yard maintenance, material handling, and assisting their in-house maintenance team.
The ideal candidate must thrive in a team environment, whether in our production facility or at client sites, and must be well-versed in all aspects of Health & Safety, Production, Inspection, and Discipline.
Current forklift licence is beneficial.
General Objectives and Responsibilities:
- Keeping the factory yard area tidy and organised.
- Operating forklifts for loading and unloading materials and products.
- Performing gardening tasks such as grass cutting, cutting back bushes etc.
- Assisting the maintenance department.
- Packing and picking duties.
- Supporting various sections of the factory and office as needed.
Salary Range:
- Up to £28,392 PA
Overtime:
- Overtime is available, typically paid at 1.5 times the hourly rate on weekdays and Saturday mornings.

Working Hours:
- Monday: 7:30 am - 1:00 pm / 1:30 pm - 4:00 pm
- Tuesday: 7:30 am - 1:00 pm / 1:30 pm - 4:30 pm
- Wednesday/Thursday: 7:30 am - 1:00 pm / 1:30 pm - 5:00 pm
- Friday: 7:30 am - 12 noon (unless working overtime)
