Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen at Barts Health for an enthusiastic and highly motivated dietitian to join us and help in the development of an exciting and innovative new dietetic service for women’s health across North East London. The post holder will work primarily with Women’s Health Hubs, developing the support given to women referred with gynaecological conditions that can be managed with dietetic support to improve outcomes and experience.
This post sits with the community dietetic team at Mile End Hospital and is part of the wider dietetic department across Barts Health NHS Trust. The post holder will work closely with local dietetic teams and the wider women’s health MDT and will deliver high quality patient care whilst also building the service. They will be expected to contribute to research and audit projects as well as promoting the dietetic profession and its role in women’s health across North East London.
We are committed to work-based education and training to improve clinical skills and there is a robust system in place for staff supervision and CPD.
Main duties of the job
To be responsible for providing highly specialist nutritional care to women attending the women’s health hubs in North East London.

· To lead on the development of the dietetic service for women’s health.
· To provide expertise regarding the benefits of nutrition and weight management and in the management of common women's health conditions such as menorrhagia, pelvic pain, menopause, pre-menstrual syndrome and polycystic ovaries. Providing specifically tailored plans for patients presenting at the hubs.
· To work closely with clinicians and colleagues at the Women’s Health Hubs to provide a holistic approach to the management options provided to patients and GPs. As well as supporting the educational needs of the team and wider primary, secondary and community care teams.
· To provide a highly specialised service and support complex patients, and where applicable their families and carers.
· To deliver bespoke group education sessions to women attending the hubs.
· To supervise more junior staff on a day-to-day basis, as required.
· To ensure that research and audit is undertaken on a regular basis to ensure that practice is evidence based.
