Summary
Our client, based in Pucklechurch, is looking for a CAD Engineer to create schematics.
Key Responsibilities:
Create and modify BMS system drawings using AutoCAD or other CAD software.
Develop panel layouts, wiring schematics, control system architecture, and system schematics.
Interpret project specifications and requirements to produce accurate and compliant designs.
Collaborate with project engineers and stakeholders to ensure designs align with project goals.
Maintain drawing revisions and document control throughout the project lifecycle.
Assist in the preparation of technical documentation, including bills of materials and design reports.
Ensure compliance with industry regulations, best practices, and company standards.
Support site engineers by providing technical drawings and resolving design-related queries.
Requirements:
Proven experience in CAD design within the BMS, HVAC, or electrical controls industry.
Proficiency in AutoCAD (or equivalent CAD software).
Strong understanding of BMS system architecture, control panels, and wiring diagrams.
Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems related to BMS applications.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to design work.
Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects efficiently.
Desirable Skills:
Experience with Revit or other 3D CAD software.
Knowledge of industry standards and regulations such as BS7671, CIBSE, or ISO standards.
Familiarity with BMS manufacturers such as Trend, Siemens, or Schneider Electric.
Prior experience in a site-based or commissioning role within the BMS industry.
