Job Title: Personal Assistant

Responsible to: Directly accountable to and taking direction from the employer and the employer’s representative (Mum)

Hours: 3 – 6 hours per week

Work Pattern: Monday – Friday (variable shifts) - 1.5 hours per day & also holiday and sickness cover

Hourly Rate of Pay: £14.53 per hour

Based at: Employer’s own home in Amersham

Job Purpose

To work one to one with a Child with Pallister Killian Syndrome and a Brain Injury. To support the child with his day to day living, support with personal care and to help develop his quality of life.

Main duties:

To support with:
Personal care (washing, dressing, brushing teeth etc)
Assisting medication and peg feeding (once properly trained)
On occasions, light household tasks such as cleaning, changing the bed, washing
Transfers whilst in and out of the wheelchair (once trained on manual handling)
Child has a hoist
To perform such other duties as may reasonably be required.

Personal Specification

Flexible in the hours and times that you can work.
Have a good sense of humour and enjoy a friendly joke.
You should have a thorough understanding of personal safety.
Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills.
A willingness to undergo any training highlighted by the employer.
You should have some knowledge and understanding of risks.
Have an awareness and knowledge of equal opportunities.
