Summary
We are looking for a dedicated and hardworking Kitchen Porter to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, assisting chefs and kitchen staff, and ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen by supporting with daily tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
Cleaning: Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, utensils, and dishes. Ensure the kitchen environment is kept clean and hygienic at all times in compliance with health and safety standards.
Dishwashing: Clean all dishes, pots, pans, and utensils to ensure they are ready for use. Organize and store them correctly.
Waste Management: Handle kitchen waste, ensure proper disposal and recycling as per environmental guidelines.
Stock Management: Assist with the storage and rotation of stock. Ensure all items are stored in the correct conditions.
General Kitchen Assistance: Support chefs and kitchen staff with food preparation tasks as needed, such as peeling, chopping, and sorting ingredients.
Assist with Delivery: Help with receiving deliveries, checking stock, and storing items appropriately.
Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with food safety and health and safety regulations.
Key Skills and Attributes:
Experience: Previous experience in a kitchen or cleaning role is preferred, but not essential.
Physical Stamina: Must be able to stand for long periods, lift heavy items, and work in a fast-paced environment.
Attention to Detail: Ensure the kitchen is clean and organized at all times.
Team Player: Ability to work well as part of a team and assist kitchen staff when required.
Good Communication: Clear communication skills for working with kitchen staff and reporting issues or concerns.
Positive Attitude: Friendly, hardworking, and willing to take on a variety of tasks.
