The role
As a Project Controls Manager you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You will join a new team working on a complex & challenging engineering project in the nuclear sector, within a nuclear related infrastructure development project. The Project Controls Manager role is accountable for performance and results achieved through multiple managers, senior grade professional associates and/or senior technical specialists within the programme. The role will utilise Project Controls knowledge and experience to deliver a balanced focus on delivery against short term priorities with a medium-term outlook, anticipating challenges and adapting plans and priorities accordingly - managing team of project controls specialists.
Day-to-day, you will be

  • Responsible for establishing/maintaining PC governance, processes and procedures across the project.
  • Establish the project baseline.
  • Manage teams to develop, manage and analyse integrated project schedules and controls information.
  • Manage project controls teams to provide cost management/change management/risk & opportunity management.
  • Provision of regular reporting to the project to provide relevant, accurate and reliable information on the status and forecast of the project.


This role is full time 36 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 3 days in the office, 2 days working from home.

Essential experience of the Project Controls Manager

  • Extensive experience in a similar environment/business sector
  • Managed project controls of varying type and significant complexity: including varying products, services, across all phases of the lifecycle
  • Awareness of various contracting methodologies (e.g. FIDIC/NEC3/JCT etc.)
  • Full project lifecycle experience from bid phase through to close out.
  • Have expert knowledge of project controls toolsets

Qualifications for the Project Controls Manager

  • Project Planning and Controls - Practitioner
  • APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ)
