This work is critical to DWP’s mission to enable good retirement outcomes and form a key part of Government’s economic growth agenda.
We are looking for a policy advisor with a technical understanding of private occupational DB pension schemes and DB superfund consolidators to support the development of the legislative framework for the Pension Schemes Bill and provide policy input through the introduction and passage of the Bill, and subsequent secondary legislation.
You should be a motivated and proactive individual who can work at pace, and has exceptional interpersonal skills, as well as experience and understanding of the defined benefit landscape, investment and risk management strategies, and the DB risk transfer market.
You will own key relationships in OGDs and the private financial sector which are crucial to the delivery of Superfunds.
Responsibilities will include: drafting policy instructions, working with parliamentary counsel and GLD lawyers on legal instructions and draft clauses. Working with the DWP Bill Team and other policy teams working on different measures.
This work will continue once the Bill is laid in the development of secondary legislation and ongoing Parliamentary Handling.
