Summary
A growing multi-national Pentecostal Church and a Charitable Incorporated Organisation located in Stockport, Greater Manchester is seeking a dedicated music minister to join our church community as an Assistant Pastor (Music).
The Assistant Pastor for music would be responsible for leading the music department, training the church choir, managing the church’s musical instruments, leading the congregation in praise and worship, organising musical events, carrying out pastoral duties and conducting church services.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee and lead the music department
• Lead, train and support the church choir, develop the music ministry such that the entire church ministries are developed.
• Lead the congregation in praise and worship
• Organise church musical concerts, programs, praise, and worship sessions.
• Teach and develop the musical skills of our children and youths
• Support the technical team, general IT and audio-visuals so that the sounds and graphics are well enhanced
• Prepare and deliver sermons and deputise for the Senior Pastor
• Perform pastoral care duties and conducts some services in accordance with our
constitution
Responsible to: Lead Pastor
Skills and Requirements for the role:
Must be a born-again Christian, believe in Jesus Christ as the only
begotten son of God, the Holy Spirit and the Holy bible as the word of God.
Applicant must be a C&S member and must be from a verifiable C&S background.
Active, daily, personal devotional life.
Open to the move and voice of God.
An active, committed Pentecostal Christian
Excellent communication skills and proficiency in English Language
Ability to lead and participate in church services
Must be able to play the keyboard or any other musical instruments
Ability to support the lead Pastor and leadership in growing the ministry.
Knowledge of the West African/Caribbean culture including ability to
speak one local African language
Ability to minister to the needs peculiar to that ethnic group is desirable
Experience
Proficient in playing various musical instruments
Experience of leading a music department such that the entire church
ministries are developed
High level of competency in using a range of musical instruments and
equipment
Experience of working proactively and with minimal or no supervision
Offering pastoral support to people from different cultures, minority
ethnic groups, especially those whose first language is primarily not
English and understand some of the challenges and complexities that
migrants face.
Experience of bible teaching and leading congregational worship in an
ethnically diverse congregation is desirable
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree or qualification equivalent of level 6
Evidence of training in similar role(s)
