Summary

Job Description

Based at Angus House, Orchardbank Business Park, Forfar.

This job is workstyle 5 - Flexi.

You will have the opportunity to benefit from our flexible and agile working practices. This means you will work from home for part of your week and spend some time in council buildings to best suit your work, meetings and collaboration.

Working in payroll is challenging, but it can be incredibly rewarding. We know it’s not for everyone, but we’re passionate about what we do—are you? We’re looking for someone who will both support and inspire us as we work toward becoming a high-performing payroll service that we can all be proud of.

This is an exciting time to join our team. We’ve just completed a review of our service, and you’ll have the chance to make a real impact as we bring new ideas to life and implement changes. With recent investments in our processes, systems, and overall approach, we’re well-prepared to keep evolving—but there’s still a lot more we want to achieve.

Is This You?

You’re experienced in managing payrolls and confident in applying payroll legislation.
You’re motivated to deliver excellent service to others.
You are a good manager.
You bring creative energy and ideas to contribute to our development.
You have a keen eye for detail and thrive in a collaborative, supportive team.
Ideally, you will have a CIPP Payroll Management Foundation degree or be willing to undertake and achieve within an agreed timescale.
If so, you’ll fit right in with us!

We are a small, ambitious payroll team that values each member’s contributions. We work closely with colleagues in People & OD and other organisations to deliver the best service possible.

If you’d like to learn more about this role and our service vision, please reach out to Eilidh at mcfarlanee@angus.gov.uk

Please note interviews will be held on the afternoon of Friday, 14 March 2025.
