Summary
We are recruiting into our End User Compute team. The team currently consists of in-house civil servants working as engineers/senior engineers and lead engineers and there is an opportunity for a Senior Product manager to join the team in developing our products for Home Office consumption.
Our products span across a wide range of technical solutions including:
- Windows 11
- Apple
- Android
Each product offering consists of nuanced configurations and solutions which are offered to the Home Office areas of business.
Our current device estate consists of over 60,000 Windows devices and around 25,000 mobile devices.
Due to business requirements this post is available on a Full Time/Job Share/Flexible Working basis. Where business needs allow, some roles may be suitable for a combination of office and home-based working. Where this is the case, employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in the office. Applicants can raise any queries to the email address at the bottom of the advert.
We value diversity and inclusion and welcome applications from the widest diversity of backgrounds, cultures, and experiences. We particularly encourage applications from women, people with disabilities and LGBT+ as they are currently under-represented in the Home Office at this grade level. Appointments will be made on merit based on fair and open competition.
As a Senior Product Manager will use your knowledge of user needs and business goals to frame and solve problems and set priorities for both the engineering and delivery teams. You will be a key stake holder for the overall vision and quality of the product being delivered in conjunction with Lead Infrastructure Engineers or portfolio/programme director.
You will identify opportunities for improving business outcomes and enhancing benefits, looking to continuously improve the quality, capability and efficiency of your product(s). You will make decisions on quality and whether something is ready to be released into production. You may be asked either to be responsible for a single, complex, large product, or multiple related products.
In addition, you will have the opportunity to line manage, coach and mentor other members of End User Compute, and be involved in recruitment related processes.
