Summary
The CDC at Mile End Hospital will provide a 7-day service with 12-hour days, offering the potential for flexible working, compressed working patterns and part time work.
To support the opening of the new Community Diagnostics Centre at Mile End Hospital in mid-2025, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an Operational Lead Radiographer to manage the Cardiac CT service provision networked from the service at St Bartholomew’s Hospital. The launch of the CDC will ensure patients have access to specialised services within a community setting, whilst taking advantage of close links with the service at Bart’s Heart Centre.
If you are a dynamic, enthusiastic, experienced Cardiac Radiographer, specialised in Cardiac CT and are looking for a challenge, this is an exciting opportunity to establish a new service alongside a friendly, hard-working, ambitious and highly skilled team of Specialist Radiographers within the CDC and in collaboration with the Cardiac Imaging service at St Bart’s NHS Trust. We are looking for someone who is interested in becoming an integral key member of our management team working alongside multidisciplinary colleagues with a focus on the expansion of services and the development of our professional group.
As a part of this fast paced and exciting role, you would be working as a key member of theteam, involved in the day-to-day running and coordination of the scanner and staff, undertaking both managerial and clinical duties.
The post holder will be responsible for the management of the day-to-day provision of the Networked Cardiac Imaging services across Bart’s NHS Trust and the Community Diagnostics Centre (CDC) at Mile End, ensuring the services run in an efficient and effective manner and that patients are given appointments commensurate with the clinical needs.
The post holder will provide high profile Clinical Specialist support to the cardiac CT suites and to the Cardiac Imaging department. The post holder will liaise with the BHC Operational Lead Radiographers and departmental Superintendent Radiographers with respect to staffing and other resource issues and is responsible for the management of dedicated and rotational cardiac CT staff.
This service is key to operational priorities within the Directorate and as such, the post holder will be expected to interact with senior members of hospital staff reporting and advising on service demands and delivery. The post holder will be expected to articulate knowledgeably and effectively on complex technical issues to all service users.
The service at the CDC is delivered across 12 hour days, 7 days a week therefore the working pattern for this post will reflect the needs of this service.
