Summary
We are seeking a part-time Information Assistant to join the Welcome Desk / Information Centre team at The Sir Duncan Rice Library, providing a customer-focused information service to users of the University Library.
The Information Assistant’s duties involve the provision of a high quality, professional, friendly and knowledgeable service including welcoming users of and visitors to the building; dealing with user and visitor enquiries about the services, facilities, opening hours, access to and membership of the University Library; issuing visitor and access passes; managing the admission of group parties to the building; assisting readers with overdue items or other problems; regular administration of room bookings and liaising with other sections.
Experience of effectively dealing with the public is essential and you must have a good general standard of education. You will be expected to provide a high standard of customer care, work as part of a team and be responsive to the public, all of which are essential
Salary will be at the appropriate point on Grade 3, £24,606 - £26,038 with placement according to qualifications and experience. The post is 18 hours per week, daily Mon-Fri between 10.00 and 14.00.

This role is based in the UK and as such the successful candidates will be required to live and work in the UK. There is no opportunity for homeworking in this role.
