Summary
Kames Fish Farming Ltd, established in 1972, is the UK’s largest Steelhead Trout production company, Scotland’s oldest family-owned aquaculture business, with our core values of Quality, Sustainability and Community reflected in everything we do.
Our Pooltiel site near Dunvegan was established in 2017 and has been steadily increasing production ever since. In 2019 a new ScaleAQ 300T barge was installed. Since 2023, centralised feeding has allowed site staff to concentrate on husbandry tasks and maintaining site infrastucture on the most exposed Trout farm in the world, growing trout that are unbeatable for their size, strength and quality.
The ideal candidate will be in a senior husbandry role or an experienced husbandry person who is looking to take the next step in their career progression.
Proven qualities will be in teamwork, with a high level of Health & Safety Awareness, a high standard of fish welfare and experience in aquaculture production operations. Commercially endorsed skipper training is essential for the position. Training will be provided. A full clean driving license is also required.
Normal hours of work are Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm, with a 1 in 3 weekend rota.
