Crynodeb
In this full-time role with ODS you will undertake the full range of Pest Control services duties for customers across Oxfordshire. You will be part of the ODS Pest Control team and your duties will include: -
· Carrying out pest control treatments in both domestic and commercial premises, including adjacent external areas as required.
· Maintaining accurate records of all pest control treatments carried out, either in writing, using a laptop or using handheld electronic devices.
· Liaising effectively with officers in other areas of ODS/Oxford City Council as necessary, in relation to work undertaken on Council land/property, by providing advice on all pest species and non-target species.
· Taking responsibility for pest control casework with internal teams, external agencies and other organisations as required with the aim of providing a successful outcome to Pest Control issues.
· Carrying out routine visits to premises/land under contract for surveys and treatments, problem solving and dealing with issues as they arise.
· Completing treatment reports and communicating all information regarding the treatments being carried out, proofing work to be done and any advice on preventing further issues, to our customers.
· Carrying out joint inspections with the Highways and Engineering Team to identify defects in drainage systems where rat activity has been identified and offer effective solutions where possible.
· Leading on or assisting with external domestic drainage camera surveys using specialist CCTV drain surveying equipment.
· Responding within agreed timeframes, to service requests and survey requests, assessing and treating premises/land as necessary and providing quotations and estimates when required.
· Providing expert advice to internal and external customers on pest control matters identifying and reporting issues which could cause Pest Control issues in the future.
· Displaying good working knowledge and compliance with the Campaign for Responsible Rodenticide Use and in line with BPCA codes of best practice while carrying out Pest Control work.
· Working to procure commercial Pest Control contracts by identifying opportunities, providing quotes and closing sales.
· Keeping up to date with latest Pest Control industry news, techniques and products, as well as maintaining Continuous Professional Development (CPD) and training.
· Keeping work vehicle, equipment and PPE clean and tidy, reporting any defects found as soon as possible.
· Taking special care in the maintenance and storage of air weapons and the handling of controlled substances used in Pest Control.
· Use of air weapons safely to control avian and rodent pest species.
· Carrying out waste clearance of avian and rodent pest species fouling and the removal of avian and rodent carcases.
· Working at height to carry out avian pest species proofing and/or carrying out pest surveys at height.
· Carrying out rodent pest species proofing work to prevent rodent access, using specialist products and power tools.
· Attending Court in cases of alleged environmental health breaches etc. and attend Oxford City Council and ODS Group meetings as required.

You will need the ability to communicate effectively with people in all walks of life and various scenarios. A commitment to training and continuous professional development is essential and you will need to hold a full, clean driving licence.
