The opportunity

As our A Level Business and Economics Teacher, you will have the exciting opportunity to inspire and challenge our students to reach their full potential. Your passion for business and economics will shine through in your lessons, creating a dynamic and engaging learning environment where our students develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills. By bringing subjects to life, you will prepare our students for higher education and future careers, making a lasting impact on their academic journey.

In this role, you will deliver engaging, interactive lessons across A Level Business and A Level Economics, ensuring that learning is both enjoyable and effective. You will design innovative resources and assessments that not only meet curriculum requirements but also push our students to achieve their very best. With regular feedback and progress tracking, you will help our students stay on track and reach outstanding academic outcomes. Working closely with Personal Progress Mentors, you will provide targeted support to help learners achieve their maximum potential.

You will also cultivate a positive and inclusive classroom where our students feel motivated, confident, and supported. By using a variety of assessment methods, you will track their progress and step in with tailored support when needed. Keeping up to date with the latest developments in Business and Economics education will also allow you to bring fresh industry insights into your teaching, keeping your lessons relevant and inspiring.

Collaboration will be at the heart of your role; you’ll be working with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to the continued success of our Sixth Form College. You will also attend curriculum team meetings, playing an active role in shaping our department’s success. Beyond the classroom, you will support our students with university applications, career choices, and personal development, ensuring they are fully equipped to take their next steps with confidence.


About you

You will be an experienced and knowledgeable A Level Business & Economics Teacher, passionate about inspiring our students and bringing subjects to life. With strong expertise in both Business and Economics, you will create engaging, real-world lessons that challenge and motivate our learners to achieve their full potential.

Your ability to communicate effectively and build positive relationships will ensure that our students feel confident and supported in their learning. With experience in teaching A Level Business and Economics, ideally within a sixth form or college setting (or similar), you will have a track record of delivering excellent student outcomes through innovative and interactive teaching methods.

Staying up to date with curriculum changes and industry trends will also be key to keeping your lessons fresh and relevant. You will also play a vital role in supporting students beyond the classroom, offering guidance on university applications, career choices, and personal development to help them transition successfully into higher education or employment.

Collaboration will be at the heart of your role, as you work closely with colleagues and Personal Progress Mentors to provide tailored support for students. Your commitment to student success, combined with a proactive and student-centred approach, will make a lasting impact on their academic journey.

Required

• Teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards PGCE if below Level 5)
• Degree in a relevant subject
• GCSE Maths & English (or equivalent Level 2)
• Experience in an education setting
• Experience delivering learning to diverse learners
• Experience developing learning materials
