The Role
As a Chief Engineer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You'll be responsible for ensuring that engineering projects are executed effectively, safely and meets the high standards that align with the company goals and client expectations.

Day-to-day, you'll lead cross functional teams and act as technical authority for the organisation.

  • Provide strategic direction and technical leadership to engineering teams
  • Oversee planning, execution and delivery of engineering projects
  • Approve engineering designs, specifications and technical documentation
  • Establish and enforce quality control processes and standards
  • Develop innovative solutions for improving performance and reliability

This role is full time, 37.5 hours per week and requires regular travel to a number of locations including Bristol, Walsall and Plymouth

Experience required of the Chief Engineer

  • Proven ability to lead and manage multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong experience in relevant engineering field
  • Strong understanding of design principles, processes and techniques
  • Working knowledge of project management tools
  • Effective collaborator and stakeholder management skills

Qualifications for the Chief Engineer

  • Degree qualified in relevant engineering subject (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Construction etc)
  • Must be chartered of close to gaining chartership
  • Advanced degree in engineering management preferred

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
