We are recruiting a Site Manager on behalf of a leading client in the recycling and environmental sustainability industry.

The role

As the site manager, you will be responsible for managing all site operations to ensure the sourcing, processing, and transport of scrap metal is completed in a safe and efficient manner.

  • £35,000 - £42,000 pa
  • Full-Time, Permanent Role
  • 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Key accountabilities

You will manage the operational and commercial profit and loss activities of the site, and manage site personnel to ensure the site is operating safely and within the guidelines of company policies and procedures.

  • Manage productivity by maximising people, plant, and material utilisation
  • Monitor intake and output levels to minimise waste during production processes
  • Lead continuous improvement activities and initiatives
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with HSE procedures, including reporting on site
  • Manage cost in line with budgetary requirements and financial policies

Skills & experience

Essential

  • Excellent knowledge of HSE legislation
  • IT literate and competent with use of MS Office
  • Excellent communication and management skills
  • Proven track record of managing and developing medium to large size teams

Desirable

  • NEEBOSH, WAMITAB or TCM licences would be advantageous
  • Bachelors level or equivalent in business or engineering would be advantageous
  • Knowledge of scrap metals and processing techniques would be desirable
