We are looking for a Facilities Management Officer to work in the Facilities Management (FM) team providing facility services and compliance checks in a wide variety of Corporate Council buildings such as Community Centres, Theatre and College etc.

About the role

You will be mobile working across the borough of Reading and will be working in the council’s Facilities Management team. This role would be ideally suited to someone with experience of carrying out a security role in a corporate environment which fast-paced environment and has a excellent customer care attributes and an eye for detail or someone who would like to broaden their skill base.



This is an exciting and varied role in a fast-paced environment. Your main duties will include:

To be responsible for and respond to incidents relating to the safety and security of staff, customers and buildings
To utilise security systems such as CCTV, access control and other systems
Undertake compliance related checks in corporate buildings with training provided such as alarms and fire checks
To sign in and induct visitors and contractors to site.
To carry out minor repairs in corporate properties
To provide First aid to all users of the site – both RBC staff and public.
To provide excellent customer care at all times

About you

Experience of working with the public
Excellent customer care
Experience of security
You will have basic DIY knowledge and skills.
An appreciation of the importance of Security and Health & Safety and experience of carrying out carrying out related tasks in corporate buildings
Experience of undertaking basic repairs and maintenance work.
Ability to be flexible and work from different sites and have a clean driving licence.
Able to work some evenings and weekends both within contracted shift and as overtime.
Ability to undertake security SIA related duties and manual work.
Commitment to further training as required.
