Summary


We are looking for an enthusiastic, kind and responsible individual to join our friendly Speech and Language Therapy team at Kingston Hospital.

Responsibilities will include working on the Stroke ward assisting the Speech and Language Therapists in carrying out communication and swallowing therapy/programmes and running groups. There will also be opportunities to work with patients on the medical and surgical wards. You will also assist in administration and clerical duties for the Speech and Language Therapy team.

We are looking for someone who has excellent communication and time management skills, someone who has experience working with the public in a healthcare setting. If you enjoy working with people and are committed to patient care this is the job for you and we look forward to receiving your application.

To provide both clinical and administrative support to qualified Speech and Language Therapists on the Stroke Unit and Medical, Care of the Elderly and Surgical wards.

This will include implementing and progressing agreed planned treatment programmes; undertaking stroke specific skilled Speech & Language Therapy support work to promote the rehabilitation of patients within the Stroke Unit; treating patients according to stroke specific treatment protocols e.g., repetitive task specific training, monitoring patient progression; and making minor alterations to patient treatment programmes as required.
