Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to patients in a care home or home care setting, ensuring their comfort and well-being. This role requires effective communication skills, a strong understanding of care plans, and the ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals. The Healthcare Assistant will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents and clients.
Responsibilities
Assist patients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility.
Support the implementation of care plans tailored to individual needs.
Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care.
Maintain accurate records of patient progress and any changes in condition.
Help with meal preparation and feeding when necessary.
Drive patients to appointments or activities as required, ensuring their safety during transport.
Participate in training sessions to enhance skills related to IT systems used for patient management and documentation.
Foster a warm and supportive environment that promotes dignity and respect for all patients.
Requirements
Proficiency in English is essential for effective communication with patients and colleagues.
Previous experience in a care home or home care setting is desirable but not mandatory.
Ability to understand and implement care plans accurately.
Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients and their families. .
A valid driving licence is preferred for transporting patients as needed.
A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others is crucial for success in this role.
Experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided
You will need to be flexible and be able to work alternate weekends
You MUST be a car driver with your own vehicle
