Summary

What skills and experience we're looking for

Enterprise and Travel and Tourism are popular and successful subjects, consistently achieving Grade 1 department status. Across the department there are currently 7 first year BTEC Certificate groups, 5 second year Extended Certificate year groups, and 4 groups for the Level 1/2 programme.

Four members of staff contribute to the work of the Department and teach other subjects across the department. The areas work closely together, and most teachers have been involved in more than one area.

Due to an increase in numbers in Enterprise, we are looking for one full-time and one part-time member of staff to teach in the department. The appointed individuals would be expected to teach across both subjects and at Level 2 and 3.

Generally, teaching groups are about 24 in size and taught in well-presented accommodation with all rooms having computer terminals connected to the college network. In addition, there are interactive whiteboards and a full range of technology to aid in delivery of the course.

All members of the Department work as a team to provide the best learning environment for the students. Emphasis is placed on staff supporting each other and sharing good working practice. This takes place both informally and more formally in the context of implementing consistent Departmental practice.
