Summary
To be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of your own work, including the management of patients within your care, complying with Health Professions Council Standards of Proficiency, Conduct, Performance and Ethics and abiding by the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapy rules of professional conduct. To participate in continuing professional development and other activities to maintain evidence based best practice. To share responsibility with colleagues for the day to day provision of the service and for the supervision of more junior level staff and students as required. To maintain up-to-date records of your intervention according to professional and Trust standards, including goal setting, risk assessment, reporting writing and statistics. To maintain a professional portfolio for CPD, recording learning outcomes through participation in internal and external development opportunities. To promote and maintain professional standards across the team through supervision and audit.
