Summary
The General Maintenance Person will be responsible for performing various maintenance duties to ensure that the physical condition and operations of our buildings or facilities are maintained. includes repair and maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine inspections of facilities to identify issues and prevent potential problems.
Conduct minor electrical repairs, such as changing light bulbs, fuses etc.
Repair plumbing issues, including fixing leaks, unclogging drains.
Repair or replace door and window locks.
Paint and touch up surfaces, including walls, doors, and trim.
Handle basic carpentry tasks, such as fixing or replacing broken furniture, installing shelving, or constructing small structures.
Maintain grounds by trimming bushes, mowing lawns, and removing debris.
Respond to emergency maintenance requests promptly.
Carry out annual PAT testing on electrical appliances (training provided)
Ensure all tools and equipment are well-maintained and stored properly.
Assist with setting up and maintaining safety measures within the building.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs performed.
Qualifications:
Experience in general maintenance or similar role.
Knowledge of basic maintenance.
Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
Strong communication skills to interact with staff and managers.
Physical stamina to perform tasks that may involve lifting, bending, or working in uncomfortable positions.
Must have clean driving licence.
Working Conditions:
Will be required to work both indoors and outdoors.
Must be prepared to respond to emergency maintenance needs at any time.
May be required to work evenings, weekends, or on-call depending on the needs of the business.
