Summary

ATB Civil Engineering are currently seeking an experienced Procurement Manager/ Buyer within our office based team at Clay Cross, Chesterfield.

The main roles and responsibilities of the role will include but not be limited to the following:

Materials –
- Placing orders for all groundworks materials on live projects such as PCC manholes, pipework, ducting, ready mix concrete, re-bar, consumables and PPE.
- Where possible, value engineer with suppliers to provide a more cost-effective solution.
- Manage ordering system with PO’s and order files/ spreadsheets for each site.

Plant –
- Ordering hired in plant/ site welfare and tools for each site as well as managing the purchasing, maintenance, and repairs of our own plant.
Temporary labour –
- Liaise with recruitment agencies to supplement our workforce as required.

LOLER –
- Record all lifting equipment for sites such as 4 leg chains and organise testing, repairs and replacements of the same.

Fleet management –
- Organisation of fleet servicing, Insurance, maintenance and repairs.
- Check vehicle trackers alongside working hours and update costings to suit the weekly timesheets submitted from each site.

Costings –
- Compile weekly costing spreadsheets for each project, recording of labour, plant and materials to present to our QS/ Commercial director for valuation purposes.

Invoices –
- Check against orders/ costings and manage any invoice queries with the relevant supplier.

The successful candidate will ideally need to hold the following:

- Full UK driving license (essential)
- Minimum of 2/3 years experience within a similar role, ideally within the construction sector.
- Have good communication skills both on the telephone and in person.
- Have a basic knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office applications.
- Be able to work as part of a team in a fast paced environment.
- Be able to work independently, efficiently as well as being reactive when necessary.
