Skills & Experience:
Level 4/degree with QTS or postgraduate PGCE experience.
Background in an education setting and working under pressure.
High level of safeguarding and child protection knowledge.
Knowledge of home education practices and relevant legislation.
Experience of working with families
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Competence in using ICT, including databases and spreadsheets.
Ability to establish good professional relationships with colleagues and families.
Ability to work under pressure and manage conflicting demands.
What's involved with this role: You will be responsible for overseeing and supporting families who choose to educate their children at home. This role involves ensuring that home-educated children receive a suitable education and that parents are informed about their responsibilities.
Key responsibilities:
Maintain and update records of children who are electively home educated.
Provide guidance and support to parents considering or currently home educating their children.
Assess the suitability of education provided by home-educating families.
Collaborate with other services and agencies to support home-educated children.
Monitor and report on the number of children being home educated in the area.
Organize and participate in multi-agency meetings related to home education.
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and policies regarding home education.
