Crynodeb
Clarendon School is a vibrant and inclusive special academy for 160 pupils aged 4-16 with Moderate and Complex Learning Difficulties. Our unique and friendly school has three sites within the borough of Richmond upon Thames, all self-contained but co-located with inclusive minded mainstream schools.
Our Primary and Secondary centres opened in new or newly refurbished buildings 7 years ago, giving us excellent purpose-built facilities, and a fourth site is planned to open in 2026 to ensure that we can meet the increasing need for specialist places locally.
Clarendon School is a proud member of the Auriga Academy Trust, a unique partnership of special schools in West London, that is committed to achieving the best possible outcomes for young people with additional learning needs.
We are passionate about creating a supportive environment for our pupils and their families, and we believe in the power of partnerships to transform lives.
As our Family Engagement Coordinator, you will be at the heart of this mission, making a real difference in the lives of our families. This role entails working with senior leaders to identify and support families, reduce barriers to pupil attendance and learning, help parents and carers to network, access support from other agencies (which may include financial support, housing, and social care), and work with the designated safeguarding lead, attending Children in Need (CIN) and Team Around the Child (TAC) meetings.
What we offer:
● Rewarding Work: Play a pivotal role in breaking down barriers to education and empowering families.
● Supportive Environment: Work alongside a team of passionate professionals dedicated to holistic education and care.
● Professional Growth: Access tailored training opportunities in safeguarding, mental health, and family support strategies.
● Engagement & Innovation: Take the lead in building strong family-school partnerships and create programs that leave a lasting impact.
● A competitive salary on the NJC pay scale.
● Access to a supportive network of professionals across the Trust.
● Continuous professional development opportunities.
● A chance to make a tangible difference in the lives of children and their families.
● Cycle to work and Recruitment referral schemes
● Access to discounts and exclusive offers via our Trust rewards platform
● Corporate eye care
● Occupational health and Employee Assistance Programme
● Onsite parking
Prospective candidates are warmly encouraged to visit the school or arrange an informal discussion with the Executive Headteacher, Niall Dumigan. Please contact the school office to arrange this.
