Summary
Job Description / Responsibilities:
Lay blocks, concrete blocks, and other masonry materials according to project specifications.
Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to ensure accurate construction.
Mix and apply mortar or adhesives to secure blocks in place.
Align structures using levels, plumb bobs, and other measuring tools.
Cut and shape blocks as needed to fit architectural designs.
Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and building codes.
Collaborate with other tradespeople to complete construction projects efficiently.
Inspect masonry structures for potential issues and recommend repairs or reinforcements.
Work on multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Block Setter or similar role
Strong knowledge of masonry techniques and tools
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Good physical fitness and attention to detail
Valid CSCS card (preferred)
