Summary
General Job responsibilities Prepare the clinical room for the tests, following all health and safety protocols and Infection prevention procedures. Check the daily appointment list. Meet and greet patients as per the clinic Standard operating procedures. Check patient identity is correct and explain the procedure. Ensure data is entered accurately in patients records. Signpost and refer where appropriate e.g. smoking cessation, weight loss etc. Send discharge summary to GP practice. Administration responsibilities Participate in the administrative and professional responsibilities of the team. Ensure accurate and legible notes of all consultations in the patients notes. Ensure the clinical computer system is kept up to date, with accurate details recorded and amended and Ensure accurate completion of all necessary documentation associated with patient health care. Supplies and equipment Restocking and maintenance of clinical areas and consulting rooms. Report restocking requests to Clinic co-ordinator Ensure all equipment is maintained, calibrated and sanitised as per Clinic standard operating procedures and Infection control policy. Report any issues with Diagnostic, photographic or IT equipment to the service co-ordinator or IT support as appropriate. Liaison There is a need to work closely with the clinicians and administrative staff on site; and Report any concerns, issues to the Service co-ordinator. In the performance of the duties outlined in this job description, the post-holder may have access to confidential information relating to patients and their carers, NICS staff and other healthcare workers. They may also have access to information relating to NICS as a business organisation. All such information from any source is to be regarded as strictly confidential. Information relating to patients, carers, colleagues, other healthcare workers or the business of NICS may only be divulged to authorised persons in accordance with the NICS policies and procedures relating to confidentiality and the protection of personal and sensitive data. Health & safety The post-holder will adhere to health, safety and security as defined in NICS Health & Safety policy and NICS Infection Control policy and published procedures. This will include but will not be limited to Maintaining an up to date knowledge of health, safety, and infection control statutory and best practice guidelines and ensuring implementation across the business. Using personal security systems within the workplace according to NICS guidelines Actively identifying, reporting, and correcting health and safety hazards and infection hazards immediately when recognised Keeping own work areas and general and patient areas generally clean, identifying issues and hazards report to manager. Communication The post holder should recognise the importance of effective communication within the team and will strive to: Communicate effectively with other team members. Communicate effectively with patients and carers. Recognise peoples needs for alternative methods of communication and respond accordingly. Contribution to the implementation of services The post-holder will Apply NICS policies, standards and guidance. Discuss with other members of the team how the policies, standards and guidelines will affect their own work. Participate in audit where appropriate.
