We are recruiting a Countryside warden at Caerphilly County Borough Council.

Working hours: 37 Hours
Contract Type: Full Time/Fixed Term for 12 Months
Location: Cwmcarn Forest

This is an exciting opportunity to join Team Caerphilly and provide support across the wider Regeneration Team.

We pay an attractive salary of £34,314 - £37,035 and offer access to training and development opportunities.

An experienced Warden is required to assist in the operation of Cwmcarn Forest. The primary responsibility of the post is to ensure that the land managed by the council is safe, well maintained and accessible.

The post-holder will work within the Warden Team to maintain the destination to ensure that visitors have an excellent experience. This is an exciting role at the front line of the Team as the destination aims to grow to become one of the most outstanding tourist attractions in Wales.

The successful candidate will have experience in a similar role, ideally in a comparable working environment.

For the role, we ask that you have:

1. A Level 3 qualification on the Credit and Qualifications Framework for Wales.
2. National Proficiency Test Council (NPTC) qualifications in appropriate practical skills such as use of a chainsaw, bush cutter and strimmer or where not held ability to obtain them in a timescale to be agreed with the line manager following appointment.
3. A Full UK Category B (Cars) driving licence to drive Council vehicles while at work.
