Summary

Senior Residential Support Worker (Children and Young People)
Littleover/Mickleover. Derbyshire
£34k- £36 OTE (inclusive of sleep-ins)

I am looking for an experienced Senior Residential Support Worker to work a 40 hour week in a lovely children’s home working with children and young people with EBD in Derby.

You will be working with a small, independent children’s home operator who aim to make a positive impact on the lives of children and young people by being an inspirational and outstanding home to enable children to be loved, happy, healthy, safe from harm and able to develop, thrive and fulfil their full potential. Our homes continue to receive Good Ofsted rating.

In this fabulous role you will be responsible for:

• Delivering high standards of care, protection and support to children and young people with learning disabilities and related complex needs by facilitating their physical, psychological, emotional and recreational development
• Organising a team of skilled care workers
• Planning and overseeing shifts
• Taking a lead on the day-to-day activities in the home
• Supporting young people with their education

For the role of Senior Residential Support Worker you must have:

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Children and Young People
• Minimum 2 years’ Experience of working with children with Social, Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties
• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a senior support worker with EBD children
• The key attributes and resilience for working with children with a Learning disability as well as managing challenging behaviour they may present.
• Understand the importance of providing a stable environment for children
• Effective communication skills both written and verbal
• Diligent, enthusiastic, and passionate
• Good domestic skills e.g., cooking and cleaning
• A full UK driving licence ( Essential )
• The ability to carry out personal care tasks e.g., bathing and toileting
• The ability to work shifts and sleep-ins on a rota basis
