Summary
Paediatric Otolaryngology at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital is delivered by a team of consultants with expertise across the full range of Tertiary and Secondary level Paediatric ENT surgical practise.

Purpose of Role
This post within Paediatric ENT will provide clinical support at post-CTT level under the supervision of the consultant body. The rest of the team comprises of another post-CCT fellow, two trainee middle grades, one locum middle grade, one junior doctor (SHO level) as well as an advanced nurse practitioner (ANP) and a trainee ACP.The successful applicant will be required to demonstrate that they have successfully completed a higher training programme in ENT by the time the fellowship starts and are committed to the development of a sub-specialist interest in Paediatric Otology and Cochlear Implantation. The Fellowship is open to international and UK senior trainees.

Ward Work:
- To participate in hot week daytime on call rota (1:10 weeks). You will supervise and support the trainees in conducting daily ward rounds including the assessment, investigation and management of Tertiary and Secondary level Paediatric ENT surgical cases as well as inpatient consultations as requested by other specialities.
Theatre Work:
- The post holder will be allocated two consultant led operating lists a week where they will join the consultant to recieve training in a wide range of Paediatric ENT surgical procedures. This post specifically will focus on the development of skills in the subspeciality of Paediatric Otology (such as cholesteatoma surgery) and Paediatric Cochlear Implantation.

Outpatient Work:
• The post holder will be undertaking autonomous outpatient clinics with consultant supervision, which will comprise of a mix of rapid access clinics and general paediatric ENT clinic. Therewill be opportunity to join speciality clinics as an observer.
Emergency/On call Work includes:
- The post holder will share in the ‘middle grade hot week on call rota’. please see JD for further details.
