Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified acupuncturist to provide acupuncture to cancer patients whilst under the care of the Royal Surrey Cancer Service. This post will require the therapist to provide appropriate one-to-one or group acupuncture to cancer patients under the support and guidance of the Fountain Centre, an independent cancer charity based within the hospital. The Acupuncturist will be accountable to the Fountain Centre Manager and work alongside the other therapists, Research and Development and Administrator. The role will include managing all acupuncture support in the Fountain Centre (including from volunteers), liaising with the medical team and ensuring all interventions are appropriate to the patient's needs. The role will demand a high level of flexibility, the person must be able to work independently and have excellent knowledge and skills in different acupuncture techniques. The post holder must also be self-motivated and understand cancer support well. The Acupuncturist will have experience working in oncology or long-term health conditions and experience in working for a charity is desirable. The person must be a qualified acupuncturist to a degree level, have excellent IT skills with a good understanding of the role of the Fountain Centre and how it supports those affected by cancer.
