Summary


An exciting opportunity has arisen to co-ordinate the daily attendance of patients to the Oldham Kidney Care Centre, providing administrative support to the dialysis team, as well as a wide range of clerical duties. This includes the management of resources, stock, invoices, shift recording, information management and patient enquiries.

This is a 20 hours part time role over Monday, Wednesday & Thursday (hours to be discussed).
• Provide general non-clinical advice, information and guidance of ancillary services directly to patients, clients, relatives and carers.
• Liaise with secretaries and other healthcare professionals regarding patient referrals and investigations.
• To obtain and sort results / investigations relevant to anaemia management and transplant work-up and input into appropriate databases.
• To co-ordinate the administrative support for the unit, to support patient care.
• Responsible for the provision of holiday dialysis for unit patients both at home and abroad.
• Dialysis absence recording using the trusts Datix system.
• Recording outcomes on Patient Centre / PAS
• Live admission, discharge and transfer (if appropriate) for all daily dialysis patients and all ward attendees
• To work collaboratively with the service management team and the Unit Manager to identify and deliver directorate CIP.
• Responsibility for handling cheques donated by patients to the renal endowment fund.
• Responsible for the purchase of equipment for patients and renal unit staff (e.g. dictation machines, furniture, PC’s etc).
• Responsible for stock control and stationery including ordering new supplies. Responsible for stock control for dialysis consumables, fluids and ordering of new supplies.
• Reimbursement / recovery of costs for faulty stock, patient utility bills and inpatient stays for existing dialysis patients.
