Description
General Dynamics Land Systems is on the look-out for a full-time Inspection & Test Technician to join our Production Team. The successful and inclusive candidate will earn a favourable salary of £27,200 to £34,000 based on experience and potential. This is an ideal role for someone who has a proactive and positive mindset and a keen desire to grow professionally.
Joining an established team based at our Merthyr facility, you will work across a range of stakeholders, as part of our highly skilled test, acceptance and delivery team. You will be ensuring that all vehicles are delivered to the highest standards expected by the customer, through safe and logical approaches to inspect, operate state of the art equipment.
If you were already working in this position, this is what you would have been working on this week:
- Day to day liaison with the integrated team(MoD/DE&S) and peers within other functions where appropriate.
- Complete Joint Acceptance Tests of newly built & uplifted armoured vehicles to the specifications provided.
- Maintain accurate record of faults found and repairs carried out.
- At all times operating within Health and Safety practices of the company
- Accurate record keeping
- Adhere to company Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s)
- Understand and comply with policies and procedures, carry out work in a safe and diligent manner with minimal supervision
To apply for this role, you will require the following:
- Good all round Mechanical and/or electrical aptitude
- Full UK Driving License (Cat H advantageous)
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Ability to read assembly documentation such as, drawings and work instructions
- General knowledge of assembly operations, repair techniques and fault finding
- Ability to work in a multi-faceted team environment
- Ability to work at heights and in restricted spaces
- Flexible to meet the demands of the business
- A can do attitude and a strong work ethic
- Good understanding of Health and Safety regulations
