Summary

Key result areas Manage, organise and coordinate the delivery of the ACCEND Framework (which includes supporting approximately 40 Clinical Nurse Specialists, 6 Cancer Support Workers, 6 Allied Health Professionals, 3 Nurse Consultants). Attend CNS, AHP, CSW, registered workforce, administration meetings to better support the workforce and hear direct feedback. Support lead nurses and line managers to align annual performance reviews with ACCEND framework. Actively promote community of practice for people to share learning and experiences. Map cancer training and education inline with ACCEND. Blended learning approach promote ACCEND digital resources, placement resources and in-house learning, promote self-directed learning by increasing awareness of UWE PGCert in Cancer Care, Macmillan learning hub modules aligned with ACCEND, NHS learning hub (e- Learning for health) Guys Cancer Academy. Act as an expert resource for the multi- professional team in relation to ACCEND. Advise registered practitioners on how they can meet their requirements in maintaining their registration for example revalidation and how this can be linked to ACCEND. Work closely with education providers to ensure organisations are responsive to service needs. Link with the education department to ensure courses are relevant to learning needs and the clinical environment. Deliver clinical presentations to small and large groups as required. Record and monitor ACCEND achievement, produce compliance reports and assurance reports for Lead Cancer Nurse. Identify training, competency and skills requirements of the clinical workforce, through the strategic Training Needs Analysis. Co-ordinate plans to support and induct new starters to ACCEND, supporting team leads to revise induction plans to complement ACCEND. Map workforce needs against internal and external resources to ensure staff have the right skills and competencies to deliver services in line with ACCEND to improve the patient experience. Maintain accurate records in accordance with Trust Policy and NMC standards. Work with line managers to support clinicians to develop their competence. Support managers and teams to resolve complex issues or problems in relation to CPD. Ensure all training and ACCEND related activities are captured on Aspire, running enquiries across the data to supply detailed reports and trend data. Audit progress with ACCEND and use results to inform improvements. Network and benchmark nationally to keep abreast with ACCEND development. Embed ACCEND into the revalidation and appraisal process. Manage and organise bespoke short sessions to our general workforce who manage cancer patients.
