Summary
Overview
Are you motivated and interested in joining our very busy DIY/timber yard. We are looking for a full-time Yard Operative Supervisor (FLT CB). You will need to hold a current Fork truck counterbalance licence and have some supervisory experience.
The main duties will include;
Duties
Supervise a team of 1 yard operative efficiently.
Manage the logistics of materials handling, including loading and unloading shipments.
Sorting and moving stock around the warehouse.
Be responsible for receiving, unloading, material handling and fork lift operations as part of the daily tasks.
Coordinate with the General Manager to optimise workflow and maintain productivity levels.
Oversee the use of forklifts and other equipment, ensuring proper training and adherence to safety standards.
Conduct regular inspections of the yard to identify any potential hazards or areas for improvement.
Skills
Physical strength and stamina for lifting and moving materials.
Happy working outside.
Must have a valid fork truck licence and previous experience of working in a warehouse/yard environment.
Strong organisational skills.
Ability to work in a fast pace environment.
Attention to detail and safety protocols.
Must be happy to adapt to changing tasks and improve working processes.
