Summary
Are you motivated and interested in joining our busy DIY/timber yard. We are looking for a full-time sales counter assistant with good communication skills and knowledge of the building trade. This is a key customer facing role within an often fast paced environment.
The main duties will include;
Meeting and greeting customers at the sales counter.
Assisting with face to face and telephone enquiries.
Providing customers with information and advice on stock availability and prices.
Loading the delivery vehicle.
If the candidate has a full clean driving licence they may be required to deliver goods to customers properties during very busy periods.
Unloading deliveries at the warehouse.
Pricing stock and putting it out for sale.
Help to maintain a well-stocked, clean, tidy and safe working environment.
You will need :
Knowledgeable of DIY, timber and building products is preferred but training will be given to the right candidate.
Be a team player who thrives in an environment where no two days are the same.
Confident speaking to customers on the telephone and face to face.
Have a willingness to 'muck in' and carry out a variety of tasks.
Have the ability to engage with a broad customer base.
Be friendly and approachable.
Be able to work weekends.
