Summary

The Role – Head of Supported Housing
As a member of the management team, reporting directly to the Assistant Director Communities, you will have the opportunity to shape and influence our future direction. Working collaboratively with colleagues and our partners, including local authorities, you will make a positive difference to the lives and futures of vulnerable adults. What could be more rewarding? As the Head of Supported Housing, you will:
• Lead the operational delivery of Supported Housing services, ensuring
alignment with NWH’s Corporate Plan and strategic priorities.
• Manage financial and resource planning, liaising with the Welsh Government
and local authorities on Homelessness and Supporting People payments and
monitoring returns.
• Develop and maintain strong partnerships with key stakeholders, including
local authorities, commissioners, funders, and partner organisations.
• Identify, develop, and implement new business opportunities that enhance and
expand our services.
• Oversee compliance with legislation, regulation, and best practice to ensure
the highest standards of service delivery.
• Lead, recruit, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a customer-
focused approach in a dynamic and evolving sector.
What we are looking for
To be successful in this role, you will have:
• Significant experience in developing and managing supported housing
services within a housing association or social care environment.
• Strong knowledge of the Housing Support Grant and its legislation, funding
requirements, and service provisions in Wales.
• Demonstrable experience in budget management, partnership working, and
strategic service development.
• Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and
develop staff.
• A strong understanding of the challenges facing vulnerable people, including
homelessness, mental health, and substance misuse.
• A track record of successful tendering and business development to enhance
supported housing services.
• The ability to engage with senior leaders and stakeholders, influencing policy
and funding decisions.
• A full UK driver’s licence and access to own transport.
• Welsh language skills are desirable.
