Summary
We are looking for a Tree Manager to manage the Councils tree estate and the officers that care for it. The role will lead on developing the councils tree policies, meeting ambitious strategy targets, and advise the Planning Authority on application
About you:
The post holder needs to have a recognised Arboricultural qualification to HND level or above. They need to be able to identify tree species, their characteristics, habits and weaknesses and be able to recommend appropriate works. They will need a good knowledge of environmental and silvicultural aspects of trees to guide tree and woodland management practices in the city-wide treescape. They will need strong stakeholder engagement skill to progress the councils strategy goals and have knowledge and experience of Planning Application written reports.
About the role:
The role will be responsible for delivering to the councils tree strategy targets, and developing long term and sustainable tree management policies including woodland, habitat and successional planting programmes. The role is also responsible for the direct line management of 2 arboriculture officers, and for the management of council Arboriculture contracts and contactors.

This is a small, bespoke and respected team that that work closely together to deliver works across the city.
