About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Music Teacher to join a dynamic secondary school in Leeds on a part-time basis from 24th February. You will play a key role in fostering a love for music among students while delivering engaging and inspiring lessons. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented educator to make a real impact on students' musical journey.

Position Details:

Location: Leeds
Contract: Part time (Monday to Thursday)
Pay Rate: £150 - £223 per day (UPS rates will be considered)

Essential Requirements

  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Ability to teach a variety of musical instruments.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of music theory, composition, and performance.
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
  • Passionate about inspiring and engaging young people through music.
  • Organised, adaptable, and creative in lesson planning.
  • Experience leading musical ensembles and school productions.
  • Competence in using music technology and software

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality music lessons in line with the curriculum.
  • Teach a broad range of musical styles and genres, from classical to contemporary.
  • Encourage students to develop their performance, composition, and listening skills.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback.
  • Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Music exams.
  • Organise and direct school performances, concerts, and musical events.
  • Use music technology and software to enhance learning experiences.
  • Lead extracurricular music clubs such as choir, orchestra, or band.
  • Support students in preparing for external music exams and competitions.
