Summary
The post will be based in Leighton Hospital and surrounding clinics. Base Sites in CPS are Leighton Hospital and Macclesfield District General Hospital. All our vacancies include a 7 day working pattern, and the successful candidate will be expected to cover weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis. Cheshire phlebotomy services (CPS) provide phlebotomy services at multiple venues including Leighton Hospital, Macclesfield District General Hospital, Knutsford Community Hospital, Congleton war memorial hospital, Victoria Infirmary Northwich, and all Direct Access Localities. The post holder is required for the collection of venous blood samples for pathological analysis. The post holder will be required to work independently and as part of a team when required. They will be asked to liaise with other health care professionals, clinicians, laboratory staff, patients and/or their representatives, both in person and over the telephone. The role involves handling biological samples that may contain pathogenic micro-organisms; therefore, ensuring that all procedures are adhered to when undertaking blood sampling according to laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and the policies and procedures of the department, especially in relation to Health & Safety and Quality. The post holder must be able to support the department in multiple venues, when required. The post holder must have access to a road worthy vehicle and a clean Full UK driving licence. Use of a vehicle and a UK driving licence is an essential aspect of the role; therefore, please do not apply if you do not have the essential criteria.
