Summary

We are seeking a Building Surveyor to assist the Property Services and Asset Manager in coordinating and managing the Council’s capital and revenue building works programmes. The role will be responsible for the management of the Council’s routine service and maintenance contracts, and delivering a variety of capital and revenue maintenance projects.

The successful candidate will have significant experience as a Building Surveyor in the management and procurement of maintenance and refurbishment projects, and be an excellent communicator.

The post is offered on a full time, permanent basis (36 hours per week).

The Council operates a hybrid working system where employees may work three days per week from home.

Hertsmere is located in southern Hertfordshire – we are 13 miles from Central London and within the M25. We adjoin Greater London with excellent road and rail links making London and the Home Counties easily accessible. The Council Offices are situated in Borehamwood within Zone 6 and with a direct rail link into London Kings Cross St. Pancras. The area is an internationally renowned centre for film and television production, home to BBC Elstree and Elstree Studios (a council owned asset), as well as Sky Studios.
