Summary
We are a local, independent mental health charity established in 1967 to help people in our community achieve better mental health. Our aim is to normalise conversations around mental health, tackle stigma and discrimination, raise awareness, promote understanding, and support our community to live mentally healthier lives.
As the HR Administrator, you will help Wirral Mind to be a supportive, effective and inclusive work environment. You will work closely with managers across the service with recruitment and human resources support, providing administration support across HR processes such as recruitment, onboarding, sickness and absence and holidays.
This is an exciting role that would suit a level 3 CIPD qualified individual looking to gain knowledge and experience in all HR aspects. However, a CIPD qualification is not essential.
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, confident and positive communication at all levels, with experience of providing human resources/administration support.
Key responsibilities include:
• Maintaining personnel files.
• Maintaining DBS tracking and applications.
• Recruitment processes: advertisements, arranging interviews, contacting references, checking right to work documents, and drafting letters of appointment and contracts.
• Liaising with the Finance Manager regarding payroll information.
• Sending and monitoring all employee’s mandatory training.
• Provide support with disciplinary and grievance processes, take minutes and draft letters.
• Maintain annual leave and sickness records.
• Assist with all enquiries. A confident and professional phone manner is essential.
• Updating and distributing employee engagement material e.g. staff newsletters and diversity calendars.
• Maintenance of stationary supplies
• Produce and maintain reports as required.
• Keep up to date with employment law and current mental health topics
• Undertake all appropriate training as required
• Adhere to all Wirral Mind’s policies and procedures.
Person Specification:
Essential:
• A good general education preferably to A-Level or equivalent
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Administrative/HR experience
• Ability to work independently and using own initiative
• Able to meet deadlines
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Good working knowledge of Employment Law and GDPR procedures
• IT literate with experience of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Desirable:
• CIPD Level 3 qualification
• Level 3 Administration NVQ
• Experience of working with SharePoint
• Experience of working with HR systems
