Summary

Full Time - 12 Month Fixed Term Contract

As part of Reading Borough Council’s move to a SharePoint-based intranet, the digital team is responsible for delivering engaging, accessible content that meets the needs of internal users. We are looking for a talented Digital Content Designer to join us in developing content for the new intranet that is user-focused, clear, and easy to navigate.



About the role



As Digital Content Designer, you will be responsible for creating and structuring content for the council’s new intranet, ensuring it is accessible, user-centred, and aligned with our brand guidelines. This role is central to improving internal communication and the overall user experience for council staff as they transition to the new intranet.



You’ll be part of a team that relies on each individual to play their part to the best of their ability. As well as the colleagues that you work closely with every day, you’ll also be part of Team Reading, playing your personal part in making Reading a successful and vibrant place.

About you



The ideal candidate will have experience in content design, ideally within a digital environment. You’ll need strong skills in writing for the web, ensuring that all content is easy to understand and accessible to all users. Experience with SharePoint or similar platforms would be an advantage, and you must have excellent attention to detail.
