Summary
MSA Engineering Systems are niche market designers and manufacturers of high quality equipment primarily including specialist CNC machine tools (light and heavy duty) plus related equipment/services, and quality control equipment (bench top measurement equipment).
A Machine Tool / Mechanical Fitter is required to work within a small design and manufacturing team, with relevant mechanical qualifications and experience. The correct candidate ideally should be a multi skilled capable and adaptable engineer, be self organised and personable, with an eye for detail and good initiative.
Principle Duties include:
• Machine Tool Fitting - Bespoke niche market CNC controlled machines.
• Mechanical Fitting / Assembly - Related tools, fixtures, sub assemblies, pneumatic assemblies, lifting equipment. Bench top quality control / laboratory equipment for the leather processing industry. Including completion of build records.
• Calibration and Recalibration of OEM Products - Bench top quality control / laboratory equipment for the leather processing industry – including completion of calibration reports.
For the right candidate there is also scope to become involved with machine installation and service work (international), R&D work, internal quality and build procedure compilation. This is a great opportunity to join a world renowned company and start a career within the business.
Experience and qualifications required:
• Good standard of education
• Apprentice trained (relevant engineering) - City & Guilds, BTEC or NVQ qualification, or similar.
• Be able to read mechanical and assembly / layout technical drawings, and follow BOM’s.
• IT competent (general use).
The following would be an advantage:
• Ability to use general machinery in the fitting process (turning, milling, grinding etc).
• Knowledge of CNC machines (maintenance, programming, setting)
• Any wiring experience (control panel build, machine wiring)
• FLT licence, including the use of jib (and other) attachments.
• Health & Safety knowledge including use of general lifting equipment – A-Frames, slings etc.

The Company reserves the right to review and update job tasks to reflect the changing needs of the relevant role (significant changes will be discussed and agreed at the time).

• Monday to Friday (Mon to Thurs 07:30 to 16:30, Fri 07:30 to 12:30 – 39 hrs/wk, 30 mins lunchbreak – unpaid)
